How to play up eyes with soft, wearable
colors like warm bronze and natural brown instead of gray and charcoal.
Bet you never thought a smoky look could be this understated.

Prep your lids
Dab a nude eyeshadow base (or foundation) on your lids up to the brow
bones— this will help the shadows stay put and not crease. Sweep a
slightly shimmery nude-ish brown shadow on top up to your brow bones.
Define your lash lines
Draw a chocolate brown or black pencil along your top lids, making
the line a bit thick since you’re going to blend it later. Be sure to
fill in any gaps of bare skin between the lashes.
Add smoke
Using a fluffy shadow brush, dust lids with a glimmery bronze shadow,
fading it to just above the crease. (Go a tad farther up if you have
hooded lids.) Smudge over the liner for an ombré look, and blend, blend,
blend!
Finish the job
Brush the bronze shadow under your bottom lashes, then put on black
mascara. (For extra oomph, line the inner rims of your bottom lids with
brown pencil.) The best part: This requires zero touch-ups all day and
night.
