Shoji typically features Canary yellow,
aloe green, and crimson were a far cry from the calm neutrals and
pastels in his collections , but he toned them down with lots of black.
Column gowns and A-line dresses were covered in strips of his own
printed motifs, then spliced with soft chiffon. Elsewhere, swaths of
sheer mesh exposed just a hint of skin; Shoji’s customer isn’t in the
market for risqué cutouts.
