The Secrets of Korean Beauty

Korean beauty
Their clear, smooth, and even-toned complexions are nothing short of perfection. But what is the secret of their beautiful skin and can we get a flawless skin like them too?

1. Skin Care

The main difference between the Korean skin care and the other skin care regimes is that Koreans are taught to take care of their skin right from childhood. They consider skin care as the ultimate investment and spend considerable time in taking care of it. They also follow their beauty regime seriously.
A good skin care regime reduces the chances of unwanted blemishes and other skin problems and makes your skin radiant. The earlier you start taking care of your skin, the healthier your skin will be.

2. Double Cleansing

Double Cleansing
Korean women follow the double cleansing method. The aim is to remove the makeup along with the dirt that settles on the face throughout the day.
  • Pre-cleanse
The first step is to remove the makeup and traces of oil using a liquid cleanser. Then, apply cleansing oil to remove bacteria, sebum, and other impurities. After cleansing, wash your face thoroughly with lukewarm water.
  • Re-cleanse
Koreans consider cleansing as the key to a radiant skin. Clean the pre-cleansed skin with a mild foaming cleanser by applying it in a circular motion with the help of your fingertips.

3. Exfoliating

Exfoliating
Cleansing and exfoliating help remove the impurities from the skin and unclog the pores for a smooth and refreshed skin. An exfoliator removes the dead skin cells collected on the surface of the skin. However, scrubbing the entire face every day is not recommended. Try to focus on the areas that really need it, such as cheeks and the blackheads on the nose.

4. Toning

Toning sets the skin after cleansing and exfoliating so that the skin absorbs the moisturizer well. They replenish and nourish the skin, and simultaneously, shrink the size of pores.
Koreans swear by toners and also refer to them as refreshers. This is what toners actually do – refresh the skin and set it for the next skin care regime.

5. Applying Essence

Once the cleansing and toning regime is over, Koreans prefer to use an essence without fail. An essence is nothing but an essential nourishing liquid that is usually lighter than lotions and helps in skin renewal. They spray this essence on the face and neck to firm up the skin and give them a clear complexion and a sculpted look.
An ampoule is an alternative to essence. This thick liquid is rich in vitamins, and a single drop is powerful enough to deal with all skin problems.

6. Moisturizing

Koreans soften their skin using a light moisturizer. They apply moisturizer using their fingertips and massage in a circular motion to promote blood circulation. A light moisturizer blends into the skin quickly without leaving any greasy residue behind.

7. Natural Face Masks

Natural Face Masks

Koreans strongly believe that the best and most effective beauty secrets on the earth come straight from nature. They prefer face masks made of natural ingredients and the most commonly used ingredients include fermented yeast, green tea, and snail mucin.
They apply face masks twice a week followed by a facial massage to improve the blood circulation and give their skin a healthy glow.

8. Applying SPF

Most of the Korean beauties do not step out of their house without applying a sunblock. Irrespective of the season, they do not skip SPF, as applying a sunblock also helps prevent wrinkles, aging, and blemishes.

9. Using Eye Cream

The area around the eyes is very delicate and requires extra care. Koreans believe in keeping the delicate eye area super moisturized by tapping on an eye cream around the eyes before sleeping.  This prevents dark circles, wrinkles, and puffiness.

10. Proper Diet

Proper Diet
A cardinal rule of skin care states that you are what you eat, and Korean beauties strongly follow this maxim. The Korean diet is nutritious and varied and rich in nutrients.
One such famous dish is Kimchi, which is actually a fermented cabbage that is loaded with vitamin C and beta-carotene that boost your skin’s health.
Another common ingredient present in their diet is Makgeolli, a fermented rice wine that is abundant in minerals and amino acids. It helps to brighten the skin and preserve its elasticity.

11. Consistency

Last, but not the least, consistency is the key to any beauty regime, and the Koreans swear by it. Taking care of your skin is very crucial, no matter how busy you are. If you want beautiful, flawless, and firm skin, then you cannot be lazy. Set up a beauty regime and follow it religiously.
